Many people often feel that creativity is an innate trait or that they are simply doomed to lack it. As though it’s some kind of blessing that you’re given at birth. Well, that’s simply not true.

Creativity is innate; we just need to access and express it. And sure, it might seem a little easier for some people to do just that than for others, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for everyone. In light of this, here are a few surprisingly simple activities you can engage in to spark your creativity!

Find an outlet.

To be more creative, first find an outlet for it. This could include anything from music and drawing to dancing and many other activities. The most important step is the first one. You need to get started.

Whether you’re considering Yamaha second-hand pianos, examining art supplies, or attending a comedy open-mic night at your local, it’s crucial to take the initial step. Sure, you’re probably not going to be amazing at first, but that’s okay! Being mediocre at something is the first, and most important, step towards being excellent at something!

Do more with your time.

Many of us often find ourselves wasting our free time. The truth is that life can be seriously busy and tiring, so it’s pretty understandable that many people would want to spend their free time simply relaxing on the sofa.

However, if you discover methods to enhance the value of your leisure time, it will stimulate your creativity to a remarkable extent. Even something as simple as getting out for a walk in nature every so often is a fantastic way to give yourself some inspiration.

Find a community

People often believe that creativity is solely a personal endeavour. Our culture has ingrained images of the isolated writer or the tortured artist. However, the best way to get creative is often to find a group of like-minded people.

This could be a group in your local area, or it could be an online community. Finding others who share your goals can be motivating.

In actuality, creativity is not merely an on/off binary switch. It’s not a matter of whether you have it or you don’t. Some days, you will feel very creative and want to put that energy into everything.

Some days, you may feel completely uninspired. Both of those situations are okay! The reality is that we all have that spark of creativity inside us; it just sometimes takes different things to make it come out.
