I can only really enjoy a drama on TV with a little humour added to it. I like Hart of Dixie and Orange is the New Black.

It’s also why I used to watch Desperate Housewives all the time. I was more than a little sad when that show ended, and for a long time, I didn’t think there was a good show to replace it.

Mistresses, another ABC show, is less suburban and more glam, but it’s the only show that’s come close to filling the hole in my heart that Desperate Housewives left.

It’s funny and up-to-date, and it looks at the relationships of four women from many different points of view.

It also reminds me a little bit of Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia, two shows that were canceled before they even started, but I’m really looking forward to this one. Is it the best show that’s ever been on TV? No. Is it fun and easy to get hooked on? You bet!

ABC vs BBC

The UK version of Mistresses, which aired on BBC from 2008 to 2010, is the model for the US version. As expected, the BBC version is a little darker, while the ABC version is a little more glamorous.
