Julianna Margulies plays Alicia Florrick, the State’s Attorney for Cook County. Alicia resumes her defense attorney practice after her public disgrace. Margulies stars with Josh Charles, Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Archie Panjabi, Zach Grenier, Matthew Goode, and Chris Noth.
According to The New Yorker, Michelle and Robert King wrote The Good Wife after the Spitzer scandal. This seven-season series, which ended in May 2016, was well-received.
Its creators won five Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a WGA Award. Due to its success, Christine Baranski’s six-season spin-off The Good Fight began in 2017. The Good Wife’s latest ventures.
Juliana Margulies
The Good Wife heroine originally gained fame as nurse Carol Hathaway in ER, where she starred until its sixth season. Her portrayal of Alicia Florrick earned her a Golden Globe, two Emmys, and a Television Critics Association Award, among other honors.
Julianna Margulies has worked largely in television, including Dietland and Billions, in recent years. On The Morning Show, she plays Laura Peterson.
Matt Czuchry
In Gilmore Girls, Matt Czuchry played Logan Huntzberger from season five onward. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a 2016 miniseries sequel, featured the actor’s character.
Two years later, Czuchry played Dr. Conrad Hawkins in The Resident, another demanding role. Season 6 is underway.
Archie Panjabi
Archie Panjabi played Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife until its sixth season, leaving amid rumors of a tumultuous relationship with Margulies.
Panjabi continued acting, largely on TV. Since joining Blindspot in its second season, she has also executive produced Departure. San Andreas (2015) starred Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino, and Alexandra Daddario. Snowpiercer’s fourth and final season stars Panjabi.
Graham Phillips
Alicia and Peter Florrick’s son has appeared in many productions since a young age. His career expanded to include singing and filmmaking.
Graham Phillips played Riverdale, Atypical, XOXO, Blockers, and Yes Day after The Good Wife. He and his brother Parker Phillips formed their independent production company in 2014 and released The Bygone, their first feature picture. They direct Rumble Through The Dark.
Makenzie Vega
Makenzie Vega played a young Nancy Callahan in Sin City and Grace, Alicia and Peter Florrick’s daughter, in The Good Wife. After the series ended, Makenzie mostly appeared in TV movies including Love, Of Course, and InstaPsycho. She appeared in two second-season episodes of 13 Reasons Why as Sarah Carlin.
Josh Charles
Josh Charles received two Primetime Emmy nominations for playing Will Gardner on The Good Wife. He played Knox Overstreet in Dead Poets Society and Sports Night.
Masters of Sex, Law & Order True Crime, Away, and HBO’s April miniseries We Own This City all featured Charles in recent years. He’s working on Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway’s Mothers’ Instinct, a psychological thriller.
Christine Baranski
The spin-off The Good Fight stars Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart. Baranski excelled in all of her film, TV, and stage roles.
Mamma Mia! She reprised Tanya Chesham-Leigh in Here We Go Again, Into the Woods, and Christmas in the Square with Dolly Parton. The Gilded Age, an HBO historical drama, stars her this year.
Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming plays Peter Florrick’s crisis manager Eli Gold in The Good Wife. Like Baranski, this actor wrote multiple books and appeared in films, TV, and theatre.
Cumming has starred in Instinct and Schmigadoon recently, as well as Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland, a motorhome tour in Scotland with actress Miriam Margolyes. He won a Tony for producing A Strange Loop this year.
Chris Noth
Peter Florrick, Alicia’s husband, is Chris Noth. Mr. Big in Sex and the City and Mike Logan in Law & Order are his most notable TV performances.
Noth starred in Gone, The Equaliser’s second relaunch, and And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, after The Good Wife. In late 2021, multiple women accused him of sexual harassment; thus, his characters were deleted from And Just Like That… and Equaliser.
