Netflix to Stream the Peaky Blinders Movie

Why a movie instead of another season?
Originally, Steven Knight planned for “Peaky Blinders” to have seven seasons. However, due to various challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the untimely death of actress Helen McCrory (who played Polly Grey), the decision was made to create a movie instead. It was decided that a film would be the best format to continue the story, according to Knight, because the pandemic caused significant production delays.

September 2024 is when filming for Peaky Blinders is expected to begin. Digbeth, Birmingham, a site with historical significance for the show, will supposedly host filming, according to Knight.
