Fans of Emily in Paris can open their presents early this year courtesy of Netflix.

On Wednesday, the streaming service released a trailer for season 3 of the popular show, which will premiere on the service on the same day as its episodes, December 21.

Despite “pulling double duty,” as her best friend Mindy (Ashley Park) notes, the marketing executive seems to be back in the City of Light after a major cliffhanger in season 2 in which Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper considered accepting a job offer from her boss Madeline (Kate Walsh) that would require her to leave Paris, or following her prickly but formidable mentor Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) to a new company.

In the video, Emily says, “This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make,” and subsequently wonders how she can be sure she made the correct choice, admitting to experiencing “existential angst.”

It can’t be all business for Emily, as she is still embroiled in a love triangle with the sizzling Chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and the dashing British gentleman Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

As Alfie and Emily sail off on their romantic holiday to the French wine country—complete with a hot air balloon ride over a château—Gabriel tells her, “You altered my life,” during a late-night card ride.

She declares, “We constantly talk about work life balance and right now I am all about life,” just before a montage of happy scenes from the show.

The first episode of Emily in Paris, created by Darren Star, will air on Netflix in October 2020. In the years after its debut, it has received numerous nominations for both the Emmy and the Golden Globe.

Season 4 of the show has already been ordered.

Season 3 began filming in June and stars Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, and Bruno Gouery. The press release teased that Emily’s choices in the upcoming season will determine “her future in France,” and promised that our social media-savvy heroine would continue to “immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists of fate that life in Paris provides.”

Star has hinted that he plans to delve further into Emily’s backstory.

He told Entertainment Tonight in December 2021, “I really enjoy how Emily grows more incorporated into French culture and I love witnessing the evolution and transformation of somebody who has made Paris their home and how that impacts them.” What we haven’t seen, save through Madeline’s (Kate Walsh) eyes, is how Emily is in connection to the people she’s left behind, or how being an expatriate for a longer amount of time affects her feelings about the place she formerly called home.
