When it dropped late last year, Netflix’s surprise rom-com hit Nobody Wants This had audiences swooning, sobbing, and screaming “just kiss already!” With a 94% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix was sure to say yes to a second season. Thanks to Jackie Tohn, we have a fun update on when we can return to Joanne and Noah’s love story. It seems like another fall fling is coming our way!

A Fall Release? That’s the Plan (Again)!

In an interview with The Direct, Tohn shared some insights about season 2’s timeline. She was careful not to make any promises that could go stale like old leftovers. She revealed a significant spoiler. She said season 1 was filmed around this time last year and then aired in the fall. Therefore, if Netflix adheres to the same schedule, we can anticipate a release in September 2025. Get your pumpkin spice calendars ready, everyone!

“I think the schedule for the show is set to follow a similar timeline as last year.” I don’t know this, so I hope I am correct. But last year, we shot at this exact time in 2024. We filmed during February, March, April, and May, and then the show aired in the fall. That’s the plan again.” Jackie Tohn’s full quote:

Adam Brody’s Tea Leaves Say the Same

This may sound familiar. Co-star Adam Brody hinted at a September 2025 release in November 2024. And now, with Tohn echoing that sentiment, it looks like Netflix is right on track. If there are no delays (we’re looking at you, Hollywood), season 2 should arrive just in time for sweater weather.

The Countdown Begins!

If you’re fed up with long waits between seasons of shows like Stranger Things and House of the Dragon, Nobody Wants This is for you. It keeps the wait brief and enjoyable. Season 1 gave us many questions. Will Joanne and Noah make it work? Will their interfaith romance encounter another obstacle? Season 2 will pick up right where we left off. We eagerly anticipate the drama, laughter, and heartwarming moments!

My take?

Could a rom-com sustain its momentum, rather than leaving us waiting for years? Yes, please! Netflix has had a rocky history with delays (cough, The Sandman, cough). However, if Nobody Wants This adheres to its schedule, we’re in for a delightful experience. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to rewatch season 1 and overanalyse every moment for clues about what’s next.

Fall 2025 can’t come soon enough!
