So, the weekend is almost upon you again, and you’re ready and raring to go. What kind of cool, exciting new adventures are you and your friends going to get up to? Are you going to participate in some extreme sports? Are you going to take a weekend getaway to some breathtaking you corner of the world you’ve never seen before?
Or maybe, you were planning to hit up the regular watering holes, grab some drinks, dance to the same songs, and do what you do every single weekend.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with going out to your regular haunts, whether those are bars or clubs. But it sure wouldn’t hurt to mix things up every once in a while.
Here are a few fun things you could do with your friends on an upcoming weekend to break the routine and have some fun.
Visit an escape room
Escape rooms are becoming something of a hit sensation these days. And they are, essentially, real-life adventure gaming experiences, that put you in the shoes of someone like Indiana Jones, who has ended up in a very dangerous environment and needs to get out in a hurry.
In an escape room, you and your friends are locked in to a simulated environment and have to look for clues and solve puzzles in order to escape.
Each escape room will have a particular theme. Some really are based on Indiana Jones-type adventures, while others have more of a horror vibe.
You could, for example, go to a serial killer escape room, where the goal is to get away before a raving maniac returns to finish you and your friends off (but not really, though). If you’re into puzzles and intrigue, an escape room could be just what the doctor ordered.
Attend a silent disco
A regular club night out can be pretty cool. There are some good tunes, and everyone is dancing to the same beat.
Recently though, silent discos have burst onto the scene and completely mixed up the clubbing experience. In a silent disco, everyone has their own pair of headphones with different stations that they can tune into. This means that everyone will be dancing together on the same dancefloor while listening to their own music.
They all look like they’re dancing in silence to an outside observer. Silent discos can be found all over the place these days. If you can attend a silent disco, go for it. It’s bound to be a good time.
Go to a museum late-night opening
Museums used to be places you would go with your family during the day. These days, however, many different museums around the world are holding late night openings on certain days of the month.
There are often special screenings of films and interactive activities at these events. In some cases, there may even be silent discos and bars. Why not see if a museum near you is doing a late night? If so, you and your friends can get down and enjoy some culture.
