If you’ve ever wished you could grab a coffee at Luke’s, wander through Stars Hollow during a snowstorm, or listen to Lorelai speaking at 300 words per minute, you’re about to have an excellent day.
Twenty-five years after Gilmore Girls first premiered, Lauren Graham and the show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, are officially reuniting for a brand-new project… And this time, it’s a book.
Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan, has confirmed that the pair are collaborating on a richly detailed, behind-the-scenes look at the iconic comedy-drama that shaped an entire generation of cosy-TV lovers.
The book fans have been waiting decades for
Celadon Books and Flatiron’s president Deb Futter set the internet buzzing with her announcement:
“This is THE book Gilmore Girls fans have been waiting for. The untold stories of Lauren and Amy, television legends, form the foundation of TV lore.
Translation: we’re finally getting the real Stars Hollow tea.
The upcoming book promises never-before-shared stories, creative insights, and personal reflections on the partnership that brought Lorelai Gilmore to life. Expect humour, heartiness, and plenty of that trademark fast-paced banter.
A love letter to Stars Hollow

According to the publisher, readers will get an intimate portrait of Graham and Sherman-Palladino’s creative collaboration, from the early days of the WB original to the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
They’ll revisit:
• iconic on-set moments
• cast memories
• the magic that shaped Lorelai and Rory
• the small-town charm that made Stars Hollow timeless
Graham shared her excitement too:
“I’m thrilled to collaborate with Amy to bring readers all our stories of the special years we spent filming Gilmore Girls, the first and second time.”
Sherman-Palladino added her own signature flair:
“I will jump at any chance to collaborate with Lauren. Be it a boozy broads lunch at Joe Allen’s or writing an actual book — the answer will always be yes. I find myself wanting to be permanently linked to her side forever. Not sure it’s healthy… but that’s the reality.”
Honestly? That is peak Gilmore Girls energy.
When does the book come out?
Fans will have to wait a little longer for this one.
Celadon Books confirmed the release year: 2027.
