Remember the old days of MTV? Here is a list of the most fun shows. Growing up, I used to watch MTV so much. It was the thing! I used to watch so many shows like MADE and NEXT. Here are a few for your 1990s teens. Let’s see if you remember them!
1. Room Raiders, 2003–2009
Three men or women’s rooms are inspected or “raided” by a single man or woman during the show. Based on what they see in their rooms and what they don’t see, the raider chooses a date with one of the three singles and does not meet them or visit any of their photos.
The three contestants sit in a van and watch the housekeepers inspect their rooms. Contestants then raid the raider’s room after they have completed their respective rooms. Raider confronts the final three contestants and makes a decision.
2. Pimp My Ride (2004- 2007)
Pimp My Ride is a TV show produced by MTV and hosted by rapper Xzibit. Each episode consists of taking one car in poor condition, restoring it, and customizing it. The original American version was hosted by rapper Xzibit (one episode featured guest hosts Chamillionaire and Don Omar).
MTV2 has begun airing episodes from Pimp My Ride UK hosted by DJ Tim Westwood, which features cars being customized in the UK, and Pimp My Ride International, featuring vehicles in central Europe, hosted by hip hop artists Fat Joe and Lil’ Jon, as well as the related CMT series, Trick My Truck. 3. A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (2007-2008)
A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila is an American reality television dating game show similar to The Bachelor TV show. It premiered on October 9, 2007, on MTV, starring Tila Tequila.
The series is a bisexual-themed reality dating show where 16 hetero males and 16 lesbian-identified female contestants live in Tequila’s house and compete for her attention and affection. The contestants were unaware of Tequila’s bisexuality until the end of the first episode after ten contestants had been eliminated. The remaining contestants, both male, and female, then shared the same home for the remainder of the series.
495 Productions and MTV produce the ten-episode series. A Shot at Love II premiered on April 22, 2008. (WIKI)

Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, also known simply as My New BFF and other alternate titles, is a competitive reality television show in which Paris Hilton searches for her new BFF (“best friends forever”).
Following the success of the original American version, its second season and two international spin-offs followed. All arrangements were produced by Ish Entertainment (a subsidiary of Lionsgate Television) and in association with the original network on which they aired.
5. Made (2002 – Present)
MTV’s MADE is a self-improvement reality television series broadcast on MTV. The series follows teens who have a goal and want to be “made” into things like singers, athletes, dancers, skateboarders, etc. The teens are joined by a “Made Coach,” an expert in their chosen field, trying to help them attain their goals over several weeks. Made documents the process the teens undergo as they try to achieve their goals. (WIKI)
Dismissed is a reality television show on MTV that premiered in 2001. One person simultaneously takes two others on a date. Each of the daters chooses a place to go (a total of 2 sites), and the person running the date dismisses the person they like the least. Each of the competing daters also has a time-out card. The card allowed the competitor twenty minutes alone with their date when used. (WIKI)
7. Taildaters (2002-2003)
TAILDATERS is the first show that follows you on a dream date while “Backseat Daters” (your friends and family who know you best) spy on your every move and add instant onscreen commentary from the TAILDATERS stakeout bus, a television studio on wheels.
TAILGATE takes the dating show to the next level as friends and family pop onscreen to tell you what their dater is thinking or what secrets they may be hiding… not written, graphic ‘pop-ups’ made up by producers. (TV.COM)
8.Date My Mom (2004-2006)
Date, My Mom is a television dating show airing on MTV’s music channel and produced by Kalissa Productions. The series premiered on November 15, 2004, and ended in 2006. An 18-to 24-year-old male, or gay male or lesbian female, goes on three separate dates with three moms, who try to convince them to pick their son or daughter to date. The dater only meets the mother and bases their decision solely on their impression of the mother and her descriptions of her child. (WIKI)
9. Next (2005-2008)
“Next” deals with a single person going on blind dates with possibly five other single people who were secluded on an RV, referred to as the “Next Bus.” The added twist was that the date could end anytime by shouting “Next.”
Miss Seventeen (2005)
Miss Seventeen is a TV program on MTV broadcast between 17 October 2005 and 19 December 2005. The exhibition consisted of 17 young women participating in an internship and university bursary. She was the youngest head editor ever to handle 17 magazines, and Atoosa Rubenstein was the primary judge.
To create a role model for the young women, they chose 17 females from all around the United States who are not only photogenic but also top-of-the-line. The girls were flown to New York to participate in a contest in a format similar to The Apprentice — tasks for Atoosa would be assigned to them, and one female would be eliminated by the challenge each episode. The winner would get her face on the cover of the magazine Seventeen, a college grant, and an internship at the magazine might be awarded.
