The highly anticipated second season of The Worst Roommate Ever has finally dropped on Netflix, and it has left viewers absolutely speechless. Directed by Cynthia Childs, this gripping documentary continues to delve into the horrifying true stories of individuals who unwittingly moved in with malevolent roommates.

A Return with a Bang
The four-episode second season, which debuted on Wednesday (June 26), is receiving praise from viewers for being “insane,” with some even claiming that it exceeds the first season’s intensity. One fan tweeted, “I didn’t think it could get any crazier.”
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead
Episode 1: Rachel and Janie Ridd
The first episode introduces Rachel, who moved in with Janie Ridd in 1995. Initially, the two became close friends, with Ridd even co-parenting Rachel’s young son, Ryder. When Rachel fell ill, she named Ridd as the beneficiary of her $500,000 life insurance policy and gave her parental custody over Ryder in her will.

However, their relationship took a dark turn when Rachel announced her plans to move out and remove Ridd from her will. Ridd then began poisoning Rachel with antibiotic-resistant bacteria purchased from the dark web.
Rachel reflects on this betrayal: “I really have a hard time believing that the person I’ve known for 25 years, my best friend and roommate, could do what she did. But it was diabolical; it was evil. The plot and planning were incredibly precise.
In August 2020, Ridd was convicted of attempted intentional abuse of a disabled or elderly adult, as well as attempted possession or use of a weapon of mass destruction. The court sentenced her to one to 20 years in prison, but she only served 25 months before her release.
Viewers have expressed outrage on social media. One person tweeted, “How did Janie only get 25 months in prison when she clearly tried to murder her friend five times? We should have punished her for attempted murder and kept her behind bars! Hope Rachel and Ryder are safe.”
Episode 2: Darrell and Anita

The second episode focuses on Darrell, a man going through a divorce who moves in with a retired woman named Anita. The situation escalates when Anita takes in a strange man, Scott Pettigrew, leading to terrifying consequences for both Anita and Darrell.
Episode 3: Bo and Tammy Fritz

In the third episode, Bo moves in with his close friend’s widow, Tammy Fritz, to help care for her son. However, Bo soon experiences a series of deadly “accidents”.
Episode 4: Michael Dudley

The final episode tells the chilling story of a group of teens who discover a suitcase filled with dismembered body parts. The investigation leads to an elderly landlord, Michael Dudley, who harbours a dark and sinister side.
