I have been working as an intern for Scottish fashion designer nicci.n. for over 6 months now, I lead the exciting life of following a fashion designer, the collections, the high paced environment and demanding business of fashion, from boutiques, retailers and buyers to designs, communicating and connecting. Fashion is a tough industry, but let’s forget about that and admit that it is extremely exciting!

Nicci.n has attracted several celebrities to wear her garments. Name dropping such as Chloe-Jasmine Whichello from X-Factor and Celebrity big brother to stylists recommending her collection to the fashion world.

September saw me working in her showroom at the recently opened studio “The Biscuit Factory” in Leith. As well as on set for her Spring/Summer collection and now nicci.n is heading towards the Scottish Heard Fashion Awards on the 14th of November. Black tie, entertainment, style and networking opportunities.

With all her products designed and manufactured in the UK, nicci.n turns a sustainable British brand into good quality, contemporary garments. Which lets face it… we fall in love with straight away.

The Autumn/Winter 2015 collection is inspired by Scottish history from the 16th century era. The collection has been modernised by stylish, contemporary designs with added embellishments and hand-dyed fabrics. Digital prints are also present alongside fabrics such as leatherette and lace to give the collection a unique twist. These are just a few of the things that the team of nicci.n. have been up to, with more exciting outfits coming your way following the New Year.
